takes an authentic approach to discussing topics that have a profound effect on modern day families in African American society. This podcast highlights single parenting, co-parenting, navigating relationships, faith, and mothers raising African American boys in today’s society. Konvos with Kiya's primary focus is to bring awareness to unspoken topics in a very comfortable way. Drawing from the perspective of her own struggles, her walk with God, and her son, Kameron’s perspective, as he also joins in on some episodes. His point of view further provides insight from an adolescent perspective to other parents that may find themselves going through the same types of every day issues. Her natural ability to connect with her listeners is what makes this podcast unique.

My name is Zakiya Powell and I am a proud parent to my son, Kameron. We are originally from Brooklyn, NY but relocated to Georgia in 2016.
I recently launched my Podcast titled, Konvos with Kiya! I am so excited to provide insight to parents all around the world! I am an elementary school educator by day and a crazy mom every minute, before, during and after teaching my students.
I am passionate about being the best parent that I can be to my son, my walk with God and using my knowledge to inspire others.
